What Are The Quality Inspection Standards After Extrusion Die Processing?

Quality inspection after extrusion die processing is a crucial step in ensuring die quality, improving production efficiency, and guaranteeing the quality of plastic products. This process encompasses multiple dimensions, including appearance quality, dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and the quality of the plastic product's molding process. The following is a detailed explanation of these inspection standards.

Appearance Quality Acceptance Standards

Appearance quality is the primary standard for die acceptance, directly affecting the die's lifespan and the aesthetic appeal of the plastic product. Specifically, appearance quality acceptance standards include the following aspects:

1. Die Surface Integrity: The die surface must not exhibit obvious cracks, pores, unevenness, or other defects. These defects not only affect the die's strength and stability but may also leave marks on the plastic product's surface, impacting the product's appearance quality.

2. Surface and Core Mold Matching: The die surface and core mold surface must maintain a high degree of matching, without obvious tilting, misalignment, or deformation. This helps ensure that the plastic product is evenly stressed during molding, avoiding defects such as warping and deformation.

3. Nameplates and Identification: The nameplate content should be complete, the characters clear, and neatly arranged, and it should be fixed on the mold foot near the template and reference corner. The nameplate not only facilitates mold identification and management but also serves as an important basis for mold quality traceability.

Dimensional Accuracy Acceptance Standards

Dimensional accuracy is one of the key indicators for measuring mold quality. It directly relates to the dimensional stability and interchangeability of plastic products. Dimensional accuracy acceptance standards mainly include:

1. Dimensional Conformity: All dimensions of the extrusion mold must strictly conform to the design standards in the drawings. This includes the overall dimensions of the mold, the dimensions of key parts, and the mating dimensions.

2. Tolerance Control: The dimensional tolerances of the extrusion mold should meet the technical requirements. Dimensional deviations and geometric tolerances should be reasonable to ensure that accuracy requirements are met during processing and use. For example, the cavity diameter tolerance of an injection mold should not exceed 0.01mm, and the cavity size tolerance should not exceed 0.02mm.

3. Geometric Shape and Dimensional Accuracy: The geometric shape and size accuracy of the product must conform to the requirements of the officially valid mold opening drawings (or 3D files). For products with special precision requirements, strict control is necessary according to tolerance principles. For example, the tolerance for shaft dimensions is negative, while the tolerance for hole dimensions is positive.

Surface Finish Acceptance Standards

Surface finish is an important indicator reflecting the quality of mold processing, directly affecting the surface quality of plastic products. The surface finish acceptance standards mainly include:

1. Surface Smoothness: The mold surface should be smooth and flat, without obvious holes or burrs. These defects not only affect the appearance quality of the mold but may also leave scratches, wear, and other marks on the surface of the plastic product.

2. Post-Molding Surface Quality: After molding, the surface of the plastic product should be free of wear, scratches, warping, and other surface defects. These defects not only affect the product's aesthetics but may also reduce its performance.
