Plastic molds are tools used in the plastics processing industry to manufacture plastic products. Most plastic products, such as children's toys, game consoles, and the plastic casings of household appliances like televisions, washing machines, and refrigerators, are made using plastic molds.
Injection Molds
Injection molds involve feeding raw materials into an injection molding machine, heating and softening them, then injecting them into the mold cavity under pressure from a rotating screw or plunger. After filling the mold and cooling, the molded product is ejected by ejector pins. Injection molds are the most common type of molding die in the production of thermoplastic parts.
Extrusion Molds
Extrusion molds involve heating raw materials and melting and plasticizing them under pressure from a rotating screw in an extruder. The material is then shaped through a specific die to create continuous plastic products. This method is suitable for continuous production and is highly efficient.
Blow Molding Mold
A blow molding mold is a mold used to blow compressed air into a closed mold, causing the material to diffuse outwards and adhere tightly to the inner wall of the mold, forming a hollow structure. It is used to mold hollow plastic containers.
Compression Molding Mold
Primarily used to mold thermosetting plastics. The mold is heated to the molding temperature, then compression molding powder is placed into the mold cavity and feeding chamber. The mold is closed, and the plastic softens and flows under high heat and pressure. After a certain time, it solidifies and sets into the desired product shape.
Vacuum Forming Mold
A vacuum forming mold uses compressed air to deform plastic sheets or plates fixed on a concave or convex mold under heat and softening, allowing them to adhere to the mold cavity to obtain the molded product.
High-Expansion Polystyrene Molding Mold
A mold used to mold expandable polystyrene raw materials into various shapes of foam plastic packaging materials.
